Copper Cancer: Copper in your drinking water, bath water and vitamin supplements increase your risk of cancer.
Researchers at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), in France evaluated data from 4,035 men age 30 to 60 years to assess association between copper, zinc and cancer.
During the 18 year follow-up the researchers found high levels of copper in the body increased the risk of:
Death from cancer by 40% All-causes of death by 50% Heart and stroke death by 30%
The subjects with combined low zinc and high copper had: 170% increased risk of cancer death 160% increased risk of all causes of death
In summary the researchers stated: "In this middle aged group of men high copper levels and low zinc levels increased the risk of early death."

Some copper is necessary for the heart and an antioxidant repair system in the body. We have to have it. But an excess amount of copper helps support blood vessel growth to cancer tumors.
Copper is found in foods including nuts and seeds. An excess can come from vitamin supplements, water pipes, faucets and some copper cookware.
