People with the highest level of Vitamin D had a 40%
lower risk of developing colon cancer.
Dietary, lifestyle and vitamin D3 blood levels were evaluated in
more than 520,000 participants in the EPIC study, from 10 western European countries. 1248 people developed
colorectal cancer during the study.
Lower blood levels of vitamin D3 were associated with higher
colorectal cancer risks. Higher blood levels of vitamin D3 were associated with lower colorectal cancer risks.
People in the highest vitamin D3 blood levels had a 40% lower risk of colorectal cancer than those with the lowest
blood level.
Further analysis revealed vitamin D3 has a strong association
for decreasing colon cancer but not rectal cancer. Men and women both experience lower colon cancer risks. Higher
dietary intake of calcium as associated with a lower colorectal cancer risk. Dietary vitamin D as not associated
with disease risk. Dietary supplement intake was not evaluated.

Vitamin D3 is a not actually a vitamin. It is a hormone or
chemical your skin makes on exposure to sunshine. Current research shows the current RDA for vitamin D3 is
inadequate for most people. Your vitamin D3 supplement dose must be based on your blood level. I have found a few
people do not need to take vitamin D3 while others need to take 10,000 IU or more
daily.
Adequate vitamin D is critical for your body and supports your
immune system and reduces your risk of colon cancer, most cancers, diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, high blood
pressure, osteoporosis, pain and many other health issues.
Don’t guess on what your vitamin D3 dose should be if you have
cancer. Get a blood test for your vitamin D3 level. Ask your doctor for a 25-hydroxyvitamin D blood test or order
it from my office. Vitamin D3 blood levels should be 50 ng/ml year around for men, women and
children.
