Vitamin K2 Inhibits Prostate Cancer Cell Growth - Prostate Cancer Alternative Treatment Strategies

Laboratory cell study and animal study confirms vitamin K2 inhibits prostate cancer cell growth.
Vitamin K2 has anticancer activity in many types of cancer including leukemia, lung cancer, ovarian cancer and hepatocellular cancer.
Researchers at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, at the University of Illinois, tested testosterone sensitive
and testosterone insensitive prostate cancer cells in laboratory cell studies and mice studies.
Laboratory prostate cancer studies found:
- Vitamin K2 is able to suppress the ability of androgen (testosterone) dependent and androgen independent
prostate cancer cells to grow.
- Vitamin K2 treatment reduces androgen (testosterone) receptor expression and PSA secretion in androgen
dependent prostate cancer cells.
- Vitamin K2 treatment decreased several inflammatory genes.
- Vitamin K2 treatment reduced cancer cell migration, a type of test tube metastisis, and new blood vessel
growth to the tumor cancer cells.
In a prostate cancer mice study:
- Vitamin K2 administration resulted in significant of both androgen dependent and androgen independent tumor
growth.
Researchers state, “Overall, our results suggest that VK2 may be a potential therapeutic agent in the treatment
of prostate cancer.”
Vitamin K2 is also known as menaquinone. Small amounts of vitamin K2 are found in animal products including meat,
dairy, cheese and eggs and in the Japanese dish natto. Higher doses than you can get from food will be required for
cancer. Click here to learn about Vitamin K2 and Vitamin K2 - D3 by Xymogen.
